Frequently Asked Questions

Is getting a tattoo safe?

Getting a tattoo is perfectly safe as long as it is done by a reputable artist in a clean and safe environment. We adhere to all SNHD regulations to provide you with a safe and comfortable experience.

Does getting a tattoo hurt?

Everyone’s degree of pain tolerance is different but the short answer is yes. Most would say they do not hurt unbearably bad and that the end result is worth any discomfort experienced during the application.

How much will it cost?

This depends on the design, size, and location of the tattoo, among other factors.  We can work within your budget!
Remember, a tattoo is an investment and something you will wear for the rest of your life.

Do you accept walk-ins?

We do! As long as there is an available artist and your design isn’t too complex. Feel free to give us a call so we can help you out.

How do I go about setting an appointment?

Once you have a general idea of what you’d like to get, you can give us a call or shoot us an email and we will set you up with an artist. Alternatively, you may contact any of our artists directly to schedule a consultation or appointment.

Do you do piercings?

Unfortunately not at this time.

How old do I need to be to get tattooed at your shop?

We tattoo persons of age 18 and above. No exceptions. Valid photo ID is required prior to tattoo application.

When is the best time of the year to get a tattoo?

Although it is okay to get a tattoo at anytime of the year, it is recommended to get tattooed in the fall or winter. Our skin is exposed to more elements (such as harsh sun and swimming) during the summer months. Any time of the year is fine if you take proper care of your tattoo.

Is it okay to get a tattoo if I’m sick?

Getting a tattoo when your immune system isn’t at 100% isn’t a good idea. You’re going to need your strength and your white blood cells to heal your tattoo, something your body won’t be able to do if it’s already battling against viruses and bacteria. If you have an appointment, call and let your artist know you need to reschedule.

How long will it take my tattoo to heal?

This can vary from person to person and the style of tattoo. Generally a good rule of thumb is 2-3 weeks. During this time you will want to treat your tattoo with extra care. Think of it as protecting your new investment.

Is there anything I cannot do with a fresh tattoo?

There are in fact a few things that you cannot do while your tattoo is in the healing process. This includes submerging the area, tanning, shaving, and applying products containing dyes or perfumes.
